First came the worlds. Then came the need to write them.
Born in Montevideo, he spent part of his childhood in Rocha. At eight he returned to the capital, where he grew up among family libraries, art and an increasingly powerful relationship with cinema.
The influence of his Italian grandparents proved decisive: his grandfather was a visual artist and sculptor; his grandmother a writer, scriptwriter and poet.
He wrote his first school story at eight and was first published at fourteen. From then on, writing became the most persistent continuity of his life.
